When Lenovo’s sub-brand ZUK launched its first smartphone ZUK Z1 last year and followed it up with the ZUK Z2 this year, many were skeptical about the software support for both of them. But ZUK has proved that it’s indeed serious about upgrades as Lenovo has now confirmed the Nougat upgrade for both ZUK Z1 and ZUK Z2 Pro.

The announcement was made by Lenovo. It mentioned that both ZUK Z1 and Z2 Pro will get the Nougat upgrade by the end of January 2017. To be specific, it is said to arrive by Spring Festival in China which is on January 28. As for the ZUK Z1, it will be the first Snapdragon 801 powered device to receive official Nougat upgrade. It will also receive open beta version.

The update will be rolled out as ZUK’s own OS ZUI 2.5 which will be bringing various changes and features. There is no exact date for the Nougat release yet but we will keep you updated.

Additionally, Lenovo announced a price cut of 600 Yen (about $87) for ZUK Z2 Pro and will be available for 2099 Yen (about $305) from now. With this price drop, the ZUK Z2 Pro has become the cheapest Snapdragon 820 powered smartphone and also features 6GB RAM.
