Micromax-owned YU Televentures has launched a new smartphone named YU Yureka S in India. This is the third smartphone in the Yureka series with previous two being the YU Yureka and Yureka Note. The new smartphone has been priced at Rs. 12,999 but has nothing special to talk about, especially when compared to the competition.
The YU Yureka S sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display. Under the hood, it has an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset clocked at 1.7GHz and coupled with 3GB RAM. The phone has a 13MP camera at the back with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, you will find a 5MP camera with 84-degree wide angle lens and f/2.2 aperture.
The Yureka S comes with 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded but there’s a hybrid dual-SIM card slot. It means you can use it either as a dual-SIM phone or with one SIM card and a microSD card. The whole package is powered by a 3000mAh battery that is said to be capable of offering 9 hours of talk time.
On the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop v5.1.1 with Around YU integration. Unfortunately, the phone does not have a fingerprint sensor which has pretty much become the standard for the phone priced more than Rs. 10,000. The phone will be available via different online as well as offline retailers.
