Xiaomi has announced the latest Redmi 4 series smartphones at an event held in China. The series comprise of Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, and Redmi 4 Prime. While all the three phones share many of the specs, the Redmi 4A is the cheapest and the Prime is the most expensive one.
Let’s have a look at them one by one:
Xiaomi Redmi 4:
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 smartphone boasts of metal unibody design with a 5-inxch HD display with 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood, it has 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 2GB RAM. It offers 16GB of internal storage with support for microSD card expansion up to 128GB.
The phone has a 13MP camera at the back with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, and dual-LED flash. On the front, it has a 5MP camera with f/2.2 aperture. The whole package is powered by a 4100mAh battery with fast charging and ships with MIUI 8 based on Marshmallow. It also features a fingerprint scanner at the back and is a hybrid dual-SIM phone.
It has been made available in Gold, Silver, and Dark Gray color options at a price of CNY 699 (Rs. 6,910/$103). You will be able to buy Redmi 4 starting this Monday.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime:
The Redmi 4 Prime is basically the beefed-up version of the standard Redmi 4. It shares most of the specs with the Redmi 4 except for a few changes. The phone sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood, it has an octa-core 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. The storage has been doubled to 32GB with expansion support up to 128GB.
All the remaining specs of the Redmi 4 Prime are same as the Redmi 4. It has been priced at CNY 899 (Rs. 8,887/$133) with sales starting this Monday.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A:
The Redmi 4A is the cheapest smartphone in the series and features a different design as compared to the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime. It sports a 5-inch HD display with 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor and 2GB RAM. It offers 16GB of internal storage and support microSD cards up to 128GB.
The phone has a 13MP/5MP camera combo and is powered by a 3120mAh battery with fast charging. It runs on MIUI 8 based on Marshmallow and does not feature a fingerprint scanner. It has been priced at CNY 499 (Rs. 4,933/$73) with sales starting November 11th.
