Xiaomi has announced the Mi VR Play virtual reality headsets in India. The VR headset was first introduced in China earlier this year but with the recent announcement, it has been made available for Indian Xiaomi fans. And to compete with various other VR headsets in the market, the Mi VR Play has been priced at Rs. 999.
As for the design part, Xiaomi has opted for the two-way zipper lock design which makes it easier to insert and take out the smartphone. It even makes sure that the phone does not fall out of the VR headset during the movement. It is also made up of Lycra fabric for better comfort during the prolonged use.
The Mi VR Play can be used with smartphones with size from 4.7-inch to 5.7-inch display size. There is a metallic textured button and features anti-reflective glasses. It is compatible with Google Cardboard app and can be used for watching 360-degree content like YouTube 360-degree videos.
While the Mi VR Play has been launched in Black color, there will be a few limited edition other color options up for grabs as well. It will go on sale in India starting December 21 at 12PM IST on Mi.com and selected offline stores.
Other than the VR headset, Xiaomi unveiled its own live-streaming app for Android called Mi Live. It offers features like public/private live streaming, video filters, sound effects, screen sharing, and on-screen comments. You can get the app from Google Play Store for free.
