Xiaomi India has now launched the Mi Band HRX Edition fitness band in the country. It is the same product which it was teasing earlier this week and as anticipated, it is the result of a partnership with Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan’s HRX brand. The USP of this fitness band is that it is claimed to last you for a period of up to 23 days on a single charge.
The newly announced Mi Band HRX Edition is essentially the Mi Band 2 except for the HRX branding and a couple of changes. The first major change is that Xiaomi has said that it has improved the tracking algorithm on the device to help users get more accurate data regarding their fitness. And the second important change is that it lacks the heart sensor which might also be the reason why it is cheaper than the Mi Band 2.
As for other specifications and features, the Xiaomi Mi Band HRX Edition sports a 0.42-inch OLED display to show you information like time, calories burnt, and the number of steps taken. It also boasts scratch-resistant glass and anti-fingerprint coating so that you don’t have to worry about damaging it.
Other than helping you with your fitness routine, it has a sleep tracker and idle alert where the latter alerts you when you have been sitting idle for too long. You can also pair the band with your Android smartphone to unlock the latter without having to enter the PIN/password or fingerprint every time. This pairing can also be used for getting alerts on the band whenever you have a notification on your smartphone.
The Xiaomi Mi Band HRX Edition is IP67 rated for water, splash, and dust resistance. It has Bluetooth 4.0 (low energy mode) and weighs only 7 grams. It has been made available in Black and Blue color options but Green and Orange color variants will be coming in the future.
It has been priced at Rs. 1299 and will go on sale starting September 18th via Mi.com and Mi Home stores. But if you would like to buy it from Flipkart, Myntra or Amazon India, you will have to wait until September 20th.
