Sony has launched its flagship for the year Xperia XZ Premium in India. It was originally showcased at this year’s MWC in Barcelona and with its release, it has become the first Snapdragon 835 powered smartphone to get launched in India. Other than the high-end processor, the USP of the device is its display and camera quality.
To start off, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium sports a 5.5-inch 4K (2160 x 3840 pixels) display with HDR support. While Sony has used the 4K display on smartphone earlier as well, it is the HDR which makes it different this time. And with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, there is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
In terms of camera, there is a 19-megapixel Motion Eye camera on the back with a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS memory stacked sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The best thing about the shooter is that the camera can be used for shooting super slow motion videos at 960fps. Watch the video below to see what the camera is capable of doing.
As for taking selfies, there is a 13-megapixel front shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The whole package is powered by a 3230mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 and will be shipping with Android Nougat 7.1.1. Other features of the smartphone include NFC, fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.0, and IP68 water and dust resistance rating.
The Sony Xperia XZ Premium has been launched at a price of Rs. 61,990 in India but can be purchased for Rs. 59,990 via Amazon India. It is available in Deepsea Black and Luminous Black color options. As part of an introductory offer, Sony is offering free Sony SRS-XB20 wireless Bluetooth speaker (worth Rs. 8,990), Sony LIV app’s free subscription of three months (worth Rs. 349), and Modern Combat 5 game with 5200 in-game credits for free to all those who preorder the device.
