As expected earlier, Samsung has officially launched its latest flagships Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in India. These are the Exynos chipset powered variants unlike the Qualcomm variant made available in the United States.
One of the best things about the new Galaxy flagships is the presence of bezel-less dual-edged display which is being referred as Infinity Display. It is a 5.8-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED panel on the Galaxy S8 and 6.2-inch on the Galaxy S8+. Other than this, both smartphones differ in the battery capacity which is 3000mAh and 3500mAh respectively.
All the remaining specifications are same for the Galaxy S8 duo. These are powered by the octa-core 2.35GHz Exynos 8895 processor coupled with 4GB RAM. There is a 12MP Dual Pixel rear shooter with f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization. On the front, you will get an 8MP shooter with f/1.7 aperture. The flagship offers 64GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
These are the world’s first smartphones to feature Bluetooth 5.0. Other connectivity options include NFC, WiFi, and USB Type-C port. You will also be able to use these smartphones for transaction payment via Samsung Pay. And not to mention Samsung’s own smart assistant named Bixby AI which also has a dedicated physical key. It also features a fingerprint scanner and an Iris scanner.
Samsung has priced the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ for Rs. 57,900 and Rs. 64,900 respectively. These are currently up for preorders (free wireless charger) and will go on sale starting May 5th via Flipkart and Samsung’s e-store.
