Samsung has now officially confirmed that the Galaxy Note 8 phablet will be launched on August 23rd at the Unpacked event to be held in New York City. It has started to send out media invites and while they don’t specifically mention that the event is about the next Galaxy Note device release, they do have enough clues to add them up and figure out the product.

The invite shows a phablet-like device placed in landscape mode along with an S-Pen. It has a caption “Do bigger things” which seems to be a hint at Galaxy Note 8’s bigger display and various unique features which set it apart from the competition. The now confirmed launch date is also in line with the time frame suggested by Samsung CEO a few days ago.
As for what is expected from the Galaxy Note 8, it is said to sport a 6.4-inch display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835/Exynos 8895 processors which will be market dependent. It is also speculated to have 6GB of RAM with a 12-megapixel dual rear camera system which will make it the first Samsung smartphone to have two cameras on the back.
