Samsung has officially released the Bixby Voice assistant for Indian users. It means if you own a Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ or Galaxy Note 8, you will be able to interact with Bixby using voice commands. The voice support has been added to compatible devices via an OTA update which means whenever you get the notification, you should download and install it to get started using Bixby with voice.

Bixby assistant made its debut in the market with the Galaxy S8 release earlier this year but the voice support was missing at that time. The team spent the time to make it better and has been releasing it to different countries gradually. Talking about the Indian users, Samsung said that Bixby Voice has been made available in English (US) but it has been optimized to recognize different Indian accents.

Asim Warsi, Senior Vice President of Samsung India (Mobile) said,

“At Samsung, we listen to our consumers and bring in meaningful innovations that help make their lives better. With Bixby, the phone adapts to you and not the other way around. It’s a smarter way to use your phone and get more done. Keeping in mind the diversity in Indian accents and our commitment to ‘Make for India’, Bixby has been optimised to understand Indian accents.”

Once you have installed the update, you will be able to trigger Bixby by simply saying, “Hi Bixby”. You can then make use of any of the numerous Bixby voice commands to get things done without actually having to hold your device.
