The Oppo F5 is the latest selfie-focused smartphone from the company which already has a number of phones claiming to offer best selfies. The latest member of the family was announced in India earlier today while it made its global debut last week in the Philippines. The highlighting feature of the smartphone is its front-camera and bezel-less “Fullview” display.

The Oppo F5 features a 20-megapixel front camera which is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to help you click better selfies along with a 1/2.8″ sensor with f/2.0 aperture. It is also capable of offering Bokeh effect to selfies which is again possible with the help of AI support. On the back, you will find a 16-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture and dual-LED flash.

Oppo explains the implemented AI technology as:

“Put your best face forward by relying on the unique facial feature optimization technology showcased in the F5. With more than 200 positioning spots, the F5 accentuates your facial landmarks and contours to enhance the symmetry between features like your eyes, nose, cheekbones, and jawline to create the perfectly refined and natural selfie. Its beauty-iris tool ensures that your eyes will shine brighter in any photo.”

As for other specs, the Oppo F5 sports a 6-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) “Fullview” bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, it has the MediaTek MT6737T processor coupled with 4GB and 6GB of RAM. It offers 32GB and 64GB storage options with support for microSD cards. The whole package is powered by a 3200mAh battery and will be running ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. It also has a fingerprint scanner and comes with facial recognition support.

The Oppo F5 has been priced at Rs. 19,990 for 4GB/32GB model (Gold and Black colors) and Rs. 24,990 for 6GB/64GB model (Red and Black colors). It is currently up for preorders via Flipkart with sales starting November 8th but only for the 3GB/32GB variant. If you are interested in the higher model, you will have to wait until December 2nd.
