After at least a month long of rumors, leaks, and speculations, we finally have an official launch date for the OnePlus 3. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei announced in a post on the official forum that the OnePlus 3 would be launched internationally on June 14 in China.
But that’s not the only good news for the OnePlus fans. The second and even bigger good news is that the OnePlus 3 will be available for purchase without any invites starting from the first day of the launch. Yes, you read it right!
OnePlus has announced that it is done with the notoriously famous invite system which had been a part of its all three smartphones OnePlus One, OnePlus 2, and OnePlus X so far. Pei said that the OnePlus would be selling all of its future products without any invite system from now onwards.
As for the OnePlus 3 launch event, it will be a VR-based event like the OnePlus 2. The company has already announced its Loop VR headset which user needs to have for experiencing the launch event in VR. The Loop VR app is now available on the Play Store for anyone to download and the best part is that users will also be able to purchase the OnePlus in the VR. OnePlus is calling it the “world’s first global shopping experience in VR.”
If we go by the rumors so far, then the OnePlus 3 is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display. The phone is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with 4GB/32GB and 6GB/64GB configurations. It is rumored to have a 16MP/8MP camera combo with Android Marshmallow on the software front and a USB Type-C port.
