OnePlus has finally revealed the plans for the Android Marshmallow update for its devices. The announcement was made by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei through an official post on OnePlus forum. Pei has confirmed the update plans for all the three smartphones: OnePlus One, OnePlus 2, and OnePlus X.

Android Marshmallow Update for OnePlus One:

If you are a OnePlus One owner, then you would be glad to know that OnePlus is planning to roll out the CyanogenOS based Android M update for the phone sometime in Q1 2016. But as OnePlus also has OxygenOS for the OPO, the company has created a community build of the same for the device. However, it will be released for the smartphone only after the release of CyanogenOS based update.

Android Marshmallow Update for OnePlus 2:

The OnePlus 2 users will be receiving the Android Marshmallow update in the first quarter of 2016 as well. Additionally, the update will also include the latest Marshmallow API for the fingerprint scanner.

Android Marshmallow Update for OnePlus X:

There is a slightly disappointing news for the OnePlus X owners. Even though Pei has said that the newly launched smartphone will be updated to Android Marshmallow, but he did not comment anything over the time-frame for the same. But since it is not a flagship device like itsĀ elder siblings, so you can expect it to receive the update in Q2 2016.
