OnePlus is now reportedly planning to launch the OnePlus 5T smartphone at an event scheduled to happen in November 2017 which is the next month. This new report is coming from the Chinese publication GizmoChina citing a reliable source. There is also an accompanying render of the upcoming smartphone which shows a major shift in the design language from the Chinese smartphone maker.

The first thing that you will notice right off the bat is that the alleged OnePlus 5T render shows a tall bezel-less display. The report claims that it is a 6-inch display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio similar to what we have seen with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel 2 XL. If true, this will be the first bezel-less display smartphone from OnePlus. Interestingly, the leaked render resembles the one reported for the upcoming Oppo F5 previously which is also said to be the first bezel-less phone from the company.

As the report mentions that the OnePlus 5T will be getting official next month, it means OnePlus will be following the same launch timeline which it followed for both the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. But the major difference here is that while the OnePlus 3T was only about a processor bump, the OnePlus 5T is reported to feature complete redesign which will actually be like a completely different smartphone. On the other hand, both OnePlus 3 and 3T sport exactly similar product design.

While the report does mention interesting details regarding the OnePlus 5T, we are quite reluctant to believe the same at the moment. It is not only because of the striking resemblance between the render of the phone and the upcoming Oppo F5 but also due to the huge difference in the product design from the current OnePlus 5 to the 5T. It would have made more sense for the release of the OnePlus 6 instead of 5T but looks like we will have to wait until next month to know the truth.
