OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus 5T flagship at an event held in New York City moments ago. It is enhanced iteration of the OnePlus 5 offering from earlier this year and brings a few improvements over the same. The major difference between the two smartphones is in the display departments where OnePlus has become the latest OEM to follow the bezel-less display trend.

The OnePlus 5T sports a 6.01-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) Optic AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It means there are negligible side-bezels and even the top and bottom bezels are quite small. In other words, the front panel is all glass which is the reason it has the fingerprint scanner on the back this time.

The team also made some changes to the camera department. While it still has the dual camera setup, the secondary telephoto lens has been replaced with a lens with a wider aperture. It has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX398 sensor combind with a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376K sensor with f/1.7 aperture on both sensors and dual-LED flash. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel camera with Sony IMX371 sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The front camera can also be used for facial recognition purposes but OnePlus warns that this method is less secure than other available security options like the fingerprint scanner.

Other than these, the OnePlus 5T is pretty much the same device as the OnePlus 5. It has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB variants. There is a 3300mAh battery with Dash Charge fast charging. On the software front, it is running Android 7.1.1 Nougat but Android Oreo update is expected by the end of the year. It also has a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Bluetooth 5.0 support.

The OnePlus 5T has been priced at Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB/64GB variant and Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant. It is exactly the same pricing at which the OnePlus 5 was launched and is currently available for purchase. As for OnePlus 5T’s availability, it will be an Amazon India exclusive in the country apart from being available via OnePlus’ online and offline stores. While it will go on sale starting November 28th, there will be an early-access sale on November 21st at 4:30 PM IST only for Amazon Prime members or anyone who managed to grab one on the day via OnePlus stores.
