HMD Global has now launched the Nokia 8 flagship smartphone in India. The launch took place at an event held in New Delhi earlier today which means the first Nokia Android flagship has gone official in the country within a month of its global announcement. While it is like any other flagship in terms of specifications, it is the pricing which sets it apart from the crowd. It has been priced at Rs. 36,999 which makes it a direct competitor to the OnePlus 5 in India.

The Nokia 8 features a metal unibody design made up of a single block of 6000 series aluminum. It sports a 5.3-inch Quad HD IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Nokia’s first Android flagship comes with a 13-megapixel dual camera setup where one is a color sensor and the second one is a monochrome sensor. Both these sensors are from Zeiss with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, 76-degree wide-angle lens, and dual-LED flash. The primary sensor also has optical image stabilization. On the front, you will get a 13-megapixels selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and 78.4-degree wide-angle lens.

The Nokia 8 has a feature called Bothie which lets you capture shots from both cameras at the same time. While using this feature, you will be able to see the feed from both cameras in the split-screen mode as shown in the image below. This feature can come in handy for YouTubers and vloggers.

You will get a 3090mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support. It is running stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box but will also be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, IP54 rated for splash resistance, and Ozo Audio support for a premium audio experience.

The Nokia 8 will go on sale starting October 14th via Amazon India and various offline stores across the country. You will be able to choose from Polished Blue, Tampered Blue, and Steel color options.
