HMD Global has officially started public beta testing Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Nokia 8. The announcement was made by company’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas via a tweet where he also revealed Nokia phones beta labs. It is simply a name for the beta testing program meant for testing new software before going for the mass release.
If you have a Nokia 8, you can choose to be a member of the Nokia phones beta labs. Once you do that, you will receive Android 8.0 Oreo beta update over the air. It should be noted that it can take few hours for the update to arrive after you complete registration. In the meantime, you can always go to the About section of your device to check for the update manually.

It is also worth mentioning that since it is the beta version, you can encounter app crashes and other performance issues on the Nokia 8. If you are not comfortable handling those issues, you should stay away from the beta version and wait for the stable version to arrive.
HDM Global started testing Nokia 8 Oreo update internally last month and has now released the public beta. This gives us a reason to believe that it the stable version should not be too far away. In the meantime, you are always free to register to for the beta program to get Android Oreo before others and help Nokia improve it for the stable release.
