Motorola has been rumored of working on a new Moto X series device for quite some time now with various leaks suggesting some of its crucial specs. But today, Android Authority has shared a significant leak citing an “exclusive source” which reveals way more than anyone at Motorola’s office would appreciate.
To start off, the leak mentions that the Moto X4 will be coming with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor which clears the confusion where some reports were suggesting that it might feature Snapdragon 630 or 660 chipset. It further suggests that there will be different configuration models for different markets. The 3GB/32GB is said to be meant for North America, Latin America, and Europe but for the Asia Pacific, Motorola has plans of offering the 4GB/64GB model. It means if the phone comes to India, we will be getting our hands on the more premium model.
On the front panel, there is a 5.2-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass. Motorola is said to have opted for bottom bezel on the front side for the fingerprint scanner which is like what we have seen on other Motorola phones for the year. In the camera department, there will be a 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel dual camera system on the back with f/2.0 aperture, dual autofocus, and 1.4µm pixel size. You will also phase detection autofocus and support for adding Bokeh effect in photos. The secondary camera is said to be a wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture 1.12µm pixel size, and a 120-degree field of view. As for taking selfies, there is a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size, and Adaptive Low Light mode. The best part is that the front camera on this device is reportedly capable of shooting 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 60fps.
The Moto X4 is said to be backed by a 3000mAh with compatibility with Motorola’s TurboCharging fast charging technology. It is also reported to feature IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. While the report does not mention, it will most likely be running almost stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. But it does specifically mention the presence Moto-specific features like Moto Actions, Moto Voice, and Moto Display. There are no words on the pricing information yet.
