As expected, Motorola has launched its current generation of Moto G smartphones at an event held in Delhi. This time, Motorola has announced two main variants: Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. Both the variants share a similar set of specifications except that the Plus variant has some additional features. This time, Motorola has also changed online partner from Flipkart to Amazon India for selling the phones.

Starting with the Moto G4 Plus, it sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Under the hood, it has an octa-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC with Adreno 405 GPU. The phone is available in two models: 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. You can expand the storage up to 128GB via microSD card in both the models.

There is a 16MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture, laser autofocus, and phase detection autofocus. On the front, you will find a 5MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture and wide-angle lens. The G4 Plus also has a fingerprint scanner and a 3000mAh battery with support for fast charging. On the software, you will get Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 straight out of the box.

Motorola has priced the 2GB/16GB variant of the Moto G4 Plus at Rs. 13,499 and 3GB/32GB variant at Rs. 14,999. You can get the phone in Black or White color variant.

As for the Moto G4, it has all the specs similar to the G4 Plus but it does not have a fingerprint scanner and there is only one model with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. There is also a difference in the choice of the rear camera which is at 13MP with f/2.2 aperture.

Motorola has not made the Moto G4 available for purchase yet and pricing will be announced closer the availability.
