LG V30 Floating Bar

LG has now confirmed that the upcoming LG V30 will be launched with a new improved software named LG UX 6.0+. It is surely an improved version of the UX 5.0+ which made its debut with the LG G5 last year. With the newly announced software, LG’s next phablet flagship will be getting a bunch of new features which were also detailed by the company in an official blog post.

To start off, the new UX 6.0+ software on the LG V30 has a completely redesigned look which looks a lot cleaner this time. There is a new weather widget along with the new Google search widget with rounded corners. The latter is similar to what we have already seen on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.

The major change on the home screen layout is the floating bar which is a replacement for the missing secondary display on the LG V30. It is similar to what we heard in a previous report and appears to be offering contextual as well as the standard list of options like app shortcuts and notifications. LG said that it will be semi-transparent in appearance and users will be able to remove it from the display when they don’t want to see or use it.

LG has also improved the Always on Display functionality for the upcoming LG V30. It has now been made more customizable It can now be used for more than just showing the current time and date information. Some of the supported features include adding music player controls, Quick Tools, and even personal photos.

LG UX 6.0+ will further bring changes to the LG V30 camera app. There is a new feature called Graphy which will be accessible in the Manual Mode. It will basically allow users to browse a bunch of professional photographs for different situations and moods. For each of these photos, the user will be able to check metadata presets like aperture, shutter speed, white balance, and ISO which can then be applied to shots taken with LG V30 camera.

The LG V30 will be made official on August 31st, a day before the start of IFA 2017. It is already confirmed to sport a 6-inch Quad HD OLED FullVision display. We will keep you updated regarding the upcoming phablet as more information will appear.
