LG started the year with the release of latest flagship LG G6 and while it will continue to release many phones throughout the year, it still has one more premium-level flagship smartphone to announce. It is the LG V30 which will be a successor to last year’s LG V20 and even though we know it will feature high-end specifications and some interesting features, it is the design revealed in recently leaked renders which are set to turn your heads.
These new LG V30 renders have been shared by the usually reliable tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) which show the phone with a secondary slide-out display. In other words, it is a design similar to the BlackBerry Priv but with a display instead of the slide-out physical keyboard. And while these renders do look amazing and stunning, it is worth mentioning that they are now somewhat old and Blass is not sure whether LG is still following the design or it has changed plans.
In his tweet, Blass said:
This is an old-ish mockup of Project Joan, a.k.a. the LG V30. Not clear if the project is still headed in this direction
But either way, it is indeed a good thing to explore these renders and to see what LG was cooking behind the curtains. As you can see from the render above, LG V30 secondary display features various app shortcuts along with a + icon which suggests that users would be able to customize and choose which apps to be available there.
Now for the second render shown below, it is clearly visible that LG has (or was) planning to offer a lot of user cases to improve the overall user experience and make it more convenient. The secondary slide-out display is meant to show relevant shortcuts and options depending on the app in action on the primary display. But it is the extreme right render which is the most interesting as it is showing a single image spreading across both displays like it is a single display panel.
So regardless of LG V30 actually looking like these renders or not, what do you think of the design? Would you be interested in such a smartphone? You can share your thoughts with us using the comments section below.
