The Lava Pixel V1 Android Marshmallow update has started to roll-out. Lava Mobiles made the announcement on Facebook as well as via an official blog post.
With this, the Lava Pixel V1 has become the first Lava smartphone to receive the Android Marshmallow. The company has said that the update will bring a lot of new features like an improved battery life as well as the security patches. It has further mentioned that along with the update, all the previous security patches released by Google will also get installed on the smartphone. We are assuming this is also the reason that Lava has asked its users to have a minimum of 750MB free space for the installation of the update.
It is an over-the-air (OTA) update and all the Pixel V1 users will be receiving the notification for the update soon. After this, you can choose whether you want to install the update instantly or sometime later.
Talking about the Lava Pixel V1 itself, the smartphone was launched by Lava earlier this year as part of the Android One range of smartphones. The phone sports a 5.5-inch HD display with Asahi Dragontrail Glass and 267ppi. Under the hood, it has a quad-core 1.3GHz processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The Pixel V1 has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. It offers 32GB of internal storage with support for another 32GB via microSD card. The whole package is powered by a 2560mAh battery. It is available in Gold and White color options.
