Huawei has finally announced its much-awaited flagship smartphones of the year, the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. Both the phones were announced at an event held in London and come with dual rear camera setup from Leica. They also feature a metal unibody design along with a rear camera strip like the Huawei Nexus 6P.
The Huawei P9 sports a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display and the P9 Plus has a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display. The major difference is that the P9 Plus comes with a pressure-sensitive display like the 3D Touch in Apple’s latest iPhones.
Both the phones are powered by an octa-core Kirin 955 SoC (four 2.5GHz Cortex A-72 cores and four 1.8GHz Cortex A-53 cores) with Mali T-880 MP4 GPU. While the P9 Plus is available only in 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model, you get to choose from two models in the case of the P9. These are: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage.
You will find 12MP dual rear cameras setup in both the phones with f/2.2 aperture and dual-LED flash. One of the cameras is for capturing colors and the another one sees only Black and White. On the front, there is an 8MP camera.
The Huawei P9 comes with a 3000mAh battery and P9 Plus comes with a 3400mAh battery. Both the phones feature a fingerprint scanner at the back and will be shipping with EMUI v4.1 based on Android Marshmallow.
As for the pricing, the Huawei P9 is priced at €599 and €649 for 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB variants. On the other hand, the P9 Plus is more expensive at a pricing of €749.
