Huawei has now officially confirmed that it will be announcing its next flagship Mate 10 on October 16th. The confirmation in the form of a teaser image tweeted by Huawei Australia’s official Twitter account. While the teaser does not mention it specifically, the launch event is expected to take place in Munich, Germany.

As for the teaser image pictured above, you can notice that it has also revealed that the upcoming Huawei Mate 10 will feature Leica-branded dual rear cameras like many of the previous offerings. The silhouette shown on the image shows that it will be a vertically aligned dual camera setup which is the same way as you can see on the current Huawei Mate 9 flagship.

Another interesting thing to notice in this teaser image is that Huawei is appearing to be taking a jibe at Samsung. You can see that the at the top, it has the tagline “Welcome to the Dual Camera Family” and right above the Mate 10 silhouette, there is another tagline “beyondthegalaxy”. Now if you might remember, Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Note 8 which is the company’s first dual camera smartphone. Huawei has certainly not taken any names specifically but those subtle hints are more than enough to reveal which brand is the target.

As for the Huawei Mate 10 itself, the company’s CEO revealed last month that it will be “more powerful” and come with a bezel-less display. He did not go into details but previous rumors have suggested that it will be a 6-inch tall display with 1080 x 2160 resolution with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it will have the all-new Kirin 970 processor which should bring significant improvements to the overall performance of the flagship.
