Only a few days ago, Google made its first-ever self-made and designed tablet, the Pixel C. While the tablet got everyone excited and even gained praise for its hardware, it also disappointed and confused many about its hefty $499 price tag along with software issue and lack of tablet apps. The latter being a more serious issue of concern for many.

To clear such doubts and answer those questions, the team behind Pixel C did an AMA on Reddit. During the whole discussion, the team was asked various questions including related to the arrival of support for split screen mode in Android. If you are unaware, it is the mode which lets users work on two apps simultaneously.

The answer to this question was given by Andrew Bowers, Google’s Director for consumer hardware and as per him, it can be seen on next version of Android, Android N v7.0.

Bowers said,

“We’re working on lots of things right now for N that, of course, we wish we had, you know, yesterday. But we’d spoil the surprise of N if we shared all of them. Split screen is in the works!”

So here you go. Split screen mode is in works and most probably will be released alongside Android N. As for Android N itself, we can expect it to get announced at Google I/O 2016 and public release sometime around October-November 2016.
