It has been about four months since the launch of OnePlus 2 and almost two months since the launch second smartphone of the year from the Chinese manufacturer OnePlus, the OnePlus X. It means it is the time OnePlus team’s sole focus is OnePlus 3 and we have just come across the first leaked renders of the “flagship killer” for 2016.
The renders have been posted on Weibo and show the next flagship from OnePlus in Black color. The most important interesting thing to notice is that renders suggest that the OnePlus 3 may come with a metallic body instead of the signature Sandstone finish. OnePlus has used the Sandstone finish in its first two flagships, OnePlus One and 2. However, it did use the glass and metal on the mid-tier smartphone OnePlus X, but it will be interesting if the company ditches Sandstone for its next flagship.
It also appears that the OnePlus 3 may come with front-facing speakers instead on the back like in earlier devices. Another noteworthy omission in the device appears to be the fingerprint scanning. It can be either OnePlus will mount it at some other location instead of the bottom on the front or the company has some other feature like Iris scanning in mind.

As for the specifications, the OnePlus 3 is expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and a 1080p display. While the selection of chipset is nothing to be surprised about because almost every other flagship smartphone in 2016 is expected to come with SD 820, the choice screen resolution is quite an interesting decision.
However, these are just the first renders and we expect to rumors to change as the time will pass and more information will appear. But we will keep you updated with all the rumors, leaks, and renders related to the OnePlus 3.
