Asus has officially announced its much-awaited ZenFone 3 series of smartphones at the Computex 2016 event. The series includes three smartphones at the moment and these are the Asus ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe, and ZenFone 3 Ultra. All the three phones sport a metallic build this time along with an 8MP front camera but it is the Deluxe variant which is the flagship smartphone from the Taiwanese smartphone maker.
The Asus ZenFone 3 is the base model and has aluminium frame body. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass on both the back as well as the front. Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset. You will get a 16MP rear shooter with Asus TriTech autofocus tech and a fingerprint scanner at the back. The phone has been launched in two variants: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The whole package is powered by a 3000mAh battery and has been priced at $249.
Talking about the flagship Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe, it is said to be the world’s first full-metal smartphone with invisible antenna design. It sports a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with up to 6GB RAM. It has a 23MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and 4K video recording support. The phone offers 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. The whole package is powered by a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. There is a fingerprint scanner at the back and features a USB Type-C port. The pricing of this flagship starts at $499.
The last smartphone announced at the event was the ZenFone 3 Ultra which mainly boasts of having a larger display and a bigger battery. It sports a 6.8-inch Full HD IPS LCD display. Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC with up to 4GB RAM. It has the same 23MP rear shooter which was found in the Deluxe variant. The whole package is powered by a 4600mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and ability to use it as a power bank for charging other devices. It also features a fingerprint scanner at the back and will cost you $479.
