When Asus announced the ZenFone 3 Deluxe variant with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, it was the first brand to do so. And now, it has become the first brand to make the SD 821 powered smartphone available for purchase.
Asus has made the Snapdragon 821 powered ZenFone 3 Deluxe available for sale in its homeland Taiwan. The phone is listed for a price of 24,900 Taiwanese Dollar that is about Rs. 52,839 or $790. It is definitely an expensively priced smartphone and puts it in the lines of the Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S7 family but if you want the latest processor, you have only two options: pay the hefty amount or wait for some price cut as well as phones from other brands.
The primary difference between SD 821 and SD 820 is that the newer processor has slightly higher clocked CPU and GPU. As per Qualcomm, the SD 821 offers about 10% better performance than the SD 820.
Talking about the rest of the specs, this ZenFone 3 Deluxe variant has 6GB RAM with 256GB of internal storage. Other than this, all the specs are same as the SD 820 powered variants that come with 4GB/32GB and 6GB/128GB configurations.
It sports a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. On the back, there is a 23MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, laser/phase detection autofocus, OIS, and dual-LED dual tone flash. On the front, you will get an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. The whole package is powered by a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and it runs on ZenUI based on Android Marshmallow v6.0.1.
